Sydney Authors Inked events are popular. These events are for readers, writers, publishers, those who wish to publish, and book lovers of all genres.

Sydney Authors Inked is a collective of authors local to Sydney, Australia. This group is interested in sharing our author journey with you. A group who focuses on creating a supportive community for local writers.

A platform is provided by SAI at these events for authors across various genres to connect, collaborate and share resources. A particular emphasis on helping each other with writing, publishing and promotion is all part of this focus.

With events like 'Writers at the Pub' presented by Sydney Authors Inked held at The Oxford Hotel, Drummoyne, the aim is to allow authors to meet their readers and share their writing journey.

These events, usually free, are becoming more and more popular, both the afternoon events and the evening ones.

Maria P Frino is one of the founding members along with Conchita GarSantiago, Anna Ceguerra and a few others. As the primary person who organises the events, Maria finds it rewarding in bringing local authors to their readers.

Maria had this to say about why Sydney Authors Inked was started -

"When we began our writing journeys, up to 10+ years ago, we didn't know each other and found it difficult to find help on how to self-publish. This is why we decided to form Sydney Authors Inked, to bring this information to writers who need it."

One of our recent events had three interesting authors who all write in different genres. Our SAI events are becoming more and more popular.

"I, for one, made some costly mistakes when I began my publishing journey, so, it is things like this that I hope other writers will avoid when they attend our events. It is also good for readers to see how the creative process works and how much effort a writer puts into writing a book."

The topics covered by these events vary from - How to Publish with KDP (the Amazon arm of self-publishing); How to Start Writing a Book, Where to get Ideas and Start Writing, How to Write in a Particular Genre, and so much more. The events are fun, informative and you can enjoy a drink or afternoon tea while you listen to the authors.

The format of the event may be an author interview, a panel discussion, a combination of both, or simply one author talking about their journey.

Note: Events are held in the Residents Room upstairs at The Oxford Hotel, Cnr Victoria & Lyons Rds, Drummoyne. This venue is kindly provided by The Laundy Family. Events will be held here until renovations start, date TBA.
