My interview with John Paul Young
I had the pleasure of interviewing John Paul Young and 'love was really in the air'. It is a fabulous interview and you can -
listen to it here -
John Paul Young, or JPY as he is affectionately known, is an Australian rock and pop star whose career began 50 years ago. Hence the name of his latest tour, JPY 50 Years Young - The Anniversary Tour featuring The Allstar Band.
Tickets are available here - https://abstract.net.au/jpy-50-years-young-the-anniversary-tour/
Apart from a small technical hitch with Zoom audio, we eventually managed to do the interview and discuss John's long career in music (and how Love is in the Air came about), his theatrical appearances, radio, and television (the Countdown years). We also discussed his latest collaboration with the Men's Shed organisation. He has written a song for them and also does a podcast.
The reason I contacted JPY was that I have written a book titled Two Men in a Shed where two men meet and become friends at a men's shed. We talked about how we both became involved with the organisation. Men's Sheds are a great place for retired men to use their skills and make long-lasting friendships. I met the men of the Hunter's Hill Men's Shed and they are a friendly bunch. The photo of the shed is on the front cover of my book. If you're interested in joining one, you can find out more information here - https://mensshed.org/

It was a highlight of my career to speak with John Paul Young and I hope you have enjoyed listening to my interview with him. I look forward to being interviewed on his podcast in the near future as well.
John Paul Young, best wishes for a great anniversary tour.
